Occupy Bethel?
Sounds cute, but in reality JWs are the (zero point) one percent that believe they have the 99% of spiritual riches.
you own a business and hire an accountant to manage the finances.. your checks start to bounce every once and awhile.
you anxiously call your accountant: "what's going on?
bank to cover these things!".

do jehovah's witnesses tend to contact family members no longer associated with the religion, especially around holidays, and try to get them to "come back"?
i'm married (never been a jw) and husband hasn't been a part of that religion since his teens (he's now 39).
i've written here before regarding my in-laws sending people to our house from kingdom hall, etc.
i was at the congregation bible study recently (aka "book study") which has been expounding in depth regarding the 1st century's unbelievable resemblance, in organizational terms, to our modern-day governing body and how big decisions are made now.
surprise!
it's exactly like it is supposed to be, according to the bible!.
PaintedToeNail,
In your last sentence, I get the feeeling we are reading about the premise of a new reality show
i have neither friends nor family to turn to.
the result of being born in a cult.
but i need to talk about this.
Jonathan,
Good to hear things are looking better, dude. Your posts throughout the ordel were levelheaded, you never lost your cool and I sincerely wish for your marriage to work out!
You never know, may even help a lurking elder break free
well, that is what the title should say.
it actually says, "why are people so angry?
" i think it's funny because anytime i try to say anything to a jw that is not praising the f&ds and the org, i get nothing but anger from them.
Jeez,
Every piece of world news in the Page 27 side box is negative. Each and every one!
When ya'll "Watched the World", ya'll didn't see the decline in violent crime, the lowest in history rate of traffic accidents rate, the......Why do I bother?
one thing i regret, is not listening to the questions in my head whilst a jw.
one i didn't ask until years after leaving was....who designed disease?
of course the first thing to realise is the complexity of disease, the histology, pathology and aetiology.
Vidqun,
You keep avoiding the OP question: "Who designed cancer?" (and other horible diseases)
If it was designed, who designed it? If it evolved, then say so. If you don't know, just say you don't know. Very simple.

It is little wonder that the WTS depicts a Cat 5 cable as a snake. It is a snake that has bitten them.
If the Cat 5 cable is the snake that has bitten them, then I hope Cat 6, Cat6A and Fiber (more bandwidth) will eventualy be the boa that will swallow for breakfast their rat a$$es..

Maybe you should leave it as is. If the Brooklyn spies check it out, they may push internet use to the R&F

Cedars,
Are the values on your X-axis transposed. The overall graph shows the biggest increase 4.58% in the countries with 90-100% internet penetration. In this case, the internet supports growth...awwww scary
Great effort, no doubt. Numerical analysis looks sound, just the graph contradicts it, IMO.
I love the countries with insignificant number of publishers (i.e. 200-500) where the addition of few people makes for a sizeable increase in the percentage points.
"Brothers, we have experienced a 300 percent growth in some lands (added the spouse and both kids to the 2 brothers)"!!!!

Stonewall, good point. Granted, circular reasoning at its best.
Hmm, no. It's a special pleading. Can't tell you how many versions of the "complexity=creation" argument I've heard and when it comes to the application of the same standards one level up, the exception comes into play.
You said it: " But what is good for the goose is good for the gander ", why the change of heart now?
